Barceloneta smells of sea and fried fish, it sounds like Catalan rumba and laughs. It’s impossible not to fall in love with this neighbourhood that preserves its sailor’s spirit despite the profound transformation of the 1992 Olympic Games. With them, the city opened to the sea, left the Somorrostro barracks behind and gained extensive and crowded beaches, gardens and equipments. It was a shock to the whole area, as was the busy Port Vell, an area full of bars, restaurants and shops at the end of the Rambla.
